伦敦的夜晚最近很不平静，有三位女子在深夜被杀害，她们的手指也被切去了，这引起了很大的轰动。在警察加紧追查的时候，竟然又有女子被杀，情况相同。又到了福尔摩斯出场的时刻了，这时有位富商之女去见福尔摩斯，她发现她的父亲是嫌疑人，正当福尔摩斯赶去她家的时候，却意外地发现她父亲已经死了。种种证据显示此案是已经死的摩日阿提所为，将别人催眠再利用他们杀人。这时，福尔摩斯遇到了一位穿着绿色衣服的神秘女子。他觉得她与此案有关。在经过调查之后，福尔摩斯深入敌穴，然而这次福尔摩斯是否能够化险为夷呢？。Social realism regarding struggles of reservation-dwelling Native Americans in the North Central states of the US.
