The film has little dialogue and relies on a remarkable series of contrasts for effect: a sultry night of deep, often painful depictions of passion visualized in a stark and grainy manner against the backdrop of a spiritless, bland ...。沈晏臣与简心结婚七年，育有女安安。白月光许微微携子回国后，他渐忽略家庭。安安生日夜，他因许微微母子缺席，此时安安心脏病发，简心向身为医生的他求救无果，安安离世。简心在裴轩帮助下复仇，让沈、许身败名裂，沈晏臣追悔莫及。。马修饰演报社的新闻版主编，莱蒙是他手下的王牌记者。这一天莱蒙正要离开芝加哥到纽约去跟他的女友展开新生活，但临时发生了一宗政治丑闻，马修用尽各种方法来挽留莱蒙采访这段新闻。整个情节就在两人的拉扯之间来表现报界中人对突发新闻的停不了的热爱心理，由此延伸了互相勾心斗角、你躲我寻的游戏。。
