After a meteorite crashes to earth awakening the extraterrestrial creature within, a young woman is abducted by an al...。从美国堪萨斯州载誉归来的医生石川玄（石黒賢 饰）受聘进入天真楼医院，但映入眼帘的并非医生救死扶伤的场面，而是当班医生缺席失职、病患无人照顾的混乱场景。尤其不能让他忍受的是，天真楼的当家外科医生司马江太郎（織田裕二 饰）丝毫没有医者全力医治患者的责任心。司马决不在下班后继续参与抢救工作，却可为了客观的报酬抢救议员的儿子；他和医疗器械商人关系暧昧，互通利益。最令石川气恼的，司马简直“视患者的生命如草芥”，在患者哪怕还有一丝生还希望时竟然放弃治疗。虽然司马医术高超，备受院方高层赞许，但这两个持这完全不同理念的医生仍然矛盾不断，在这一过程中，白衣天使外衣掩盖下的种种黑幕渐渐浮现出来……。
