To demystify documentary cinema it is necessary to...。故事发生在七十年代初的香港，阿英（关咏荷饰）刚刚丢掉了工作，陷入了不知所措的恐慌之中。在好友阿淑（汤盈盈饰）的介绍下，阿英来到了东升戏院成为了售票员，阿英工作认真又勤奋，很快就得到了老板阿然（吴启华饰）的信赖和肯定。就在阿然准备提拔阿英之时，阿英忽然告诉阿然戏院里闹鬼。 刚开始阿然觉得阿英是一派胡言，但随着时间的推移，越来越多的证据显示阿英所言非假。最终，一个名叫阿仙（苑琼丹饰）的女鬼的身影浮出了水面，阿仙揭露了一个密谋已久的阴谋。在调查事件真相的过程中，阿然渐渐爱上了善良正直的阿英。。
