A police officer videotapes his wife having various sexual encounters to spruce up their marriage, which soon lands both of them in hot water with a mobster whom blackmails them to videotape an encounter with a crooked politician.。改编自真实事件，本片讲述上世纪四五十年代苏格兰警探William Muncie和连环杀手Peter Manuel之间的猫鼠游戏。Peter Manuel曾经因为入室盗窃和性侵被Muncie警探投入监狱。9年后Manuel出狱后又开始疯狂作案，与此同时Muncie开始收到其寄来的手写卡片。Muncie誓将Manuel抓获。。
