化妆师子晴在化妆课上讲课时，被养母玉叶的债主闯进逼债，子晴遭到毒打时，被现场采访的电视台记者王蒙救下。旅居国外的英子怀着对亲生女儿的思念，从加拿大回到中国寻找年轻时与初恋情人洪波生下的女儿子晴。受养母玉枝虐待的化妆师子晴与没有血缘的名演员舅舅玉树由于工作关系朝夕相处产生了感情，在遇到继母的残酷反对后离开玉树。孤独的子晴内心一直强烈地想寻找到亲生母亲。英子找到子晴，却不敢相认，只有默默地帮助子晴。子晴不知道英子就是自己苦苦寻找的亲生母亲，在给英子做化妆的过程中结下了深厚感情……。Based on the book by the same name, the film tells the inspiring story of a 12-year-old boy, who, separated from his family by a fast moving storm, must fight to stay alive during his nine-day adventure lost in the backwoods of Maine.。An off-duty New York City Police Detective gets caught in an inner-city brawl between undercover cops convinced that he is a local street thug.
