华新影业公司监制：张善琨大学教授魏瑞光带领学生到黄山采集标本时发现了一个盲女，他将盲女带回家收养给她起名叫丽云并教她读书写字，不久音乐教授周淑华便发现了丽云有着极高的音乐天赋。在魏家，丽云经常受到魏太太的虐待，周淑华见状把丽云接到了自己家中，在很多人的帮助下，丽云在音乐上的进步非常神速。暑假，魏瑞光的长子兆明见到了丽云后对她一见倾心，而此时丽云已经与魏瑞光产生感情，因此拒绝了兆明，兆明从此很消沉。丽云在一次手术后重见光明，她看到了真实的魏瑞光后非常失望，反而对兆明产生了感情，魏瑞光知道一切后成全了儿子和丽云的爱情。This is Alanis Obomsawin's most recent film documenting the Oka crisis (1990)in Quebec.
