Somewhere in Myanmar is a forest rich in amber and controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). Most of its inhabitants work in a mine, digging the earth night and days in the hope of finding the precious ore that will get them out of poverty. But on top of the excruciating hardship of the work, they also have to fear an attack from the army.。故事发生于1997年的夏天，17岁的葵（清原果耶饰）来到了由比妇产科，她的身份是这里初来乍到的见习护士，哪知道刚刚到这里没多久，葵就目睹了非常可怕的流产手术的现场状况，精神受到了强烈的冲击。 幸运的是，在妇产科里工作的，都是非常温柔的前辈们——心细如发，总是将一切都尽收眼底的院长由比（濑户康史饰）、非常可靠，永远可以依赖的护士望月纱也子（水川麻美饰）、时而严厉时而温和的护士长榊（原田美枝子饰），在他们的帮助和陪伴下，葵迅速的成长起来，她自身的温柔和同理心也令葵总是能够和来这里检查的孕妇们迅速的拉近距离。。
